Shams Najibi, I’ve graduated from Kandahar University Faculty of Medicine. My career goal is to work as a primary care provider where I can build long-term relationships with patients and have a meaningful impact on their overall health and wellbeing. I chose SRMC residency program because it provides a diverse patient population and hands-on experience in various aspects of patient care. It also provides a conducive learning environment that aligns with my professional aspirations.
I graduated from Kamineni Academy of Medical Sciences and Research Center and aim to provide top-quality, evidence-based care to patients. I look forward to pursuing a fellowship in gastroenterology. I have always wanted to live close to my family, thus California has always been my top choice. Redding is a stunning location with an abundance of breathtaking outdoor activities, lakes, and waterfalls. Redding truly has it all. Patients at Shasta Regional Medical Center come from a wide range of backgrounds, providing us with immense learning opportunities. Moreover, the faculty here is supportive to help each resident become better in the field of medicine.
Elizabeth Caroline Palaparthi, PGY 2 I graduated from Bhaskar Medical College, Hyderabad, India. Living in Redding, California, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of mountains and rivers, fosters a sense of well-being. I am driven to pursue a career in Cardiology due to its dynamic nature, constant advancements and opportunities for growth. Outside of medicine, I enjoy competitive swimming, creative writing, and embracing new opportunities and adventures.
I graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupati, India. I am exploring specialties with the aim of becoming a holistic physician, dedicated to enhancing patient care and well-being. I chose Shasta Regional for its supportive program director and positive culture, which foster an ideal learning environment.
Medical School: Medical University of Bialystok Faculty of Medicine
He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine-I, Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). He found internal medicine to be a good fit for his interests in both developing medical problem solving skills and true interpersonal relationships with patients. He chose Shasta Regional Medical Center to participate in shaping the program’s culture and future together with other pioneer residents by contributing his knowledge and experience in the Redding area’s community. He has an intention to horizontally broaden his knowledge and specialize in the fields of Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Diseases, and Cardiology, and more. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, friends, traveling, cooking, swimming, and watching movies.
I graduated from Kamineni Academy of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, and I aim to specialize in Rheumatology and hospital medicine. SRMC first attracts you by its location in itself. From being a calm, beautiful small city for an everyday life to being within a few hours distance to the big cities for when you need it, Redding has it all. With only two hospitals in the area and covering population beyond the Northern Californian borders, I was confident of an extensive learning experience. The SRMC family and the faculty have and keep going above and beyond to help the residents achieve their goals. Being here, I am certain I am in the right place.

I am Manojna Beesetty, an Internal Medicine Resident at Shasta Regional Medical Center in California. I am dedicated to lifelong learning, compassionate patient care, and positively impacting the lives of those I serve.
I completed my M.B.B.S from Andhra Medical College in Andhra Pradesh, India, where I gained a strong foundation in medical knowledge and clinical skills. I also had the privilege of working as a research trainee at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. This experience has deepened my understanding of evidence-based medicine and the importance of incorporating research findings into clinical practice.
Throughout my residency, I will be enthusiastic about exploring various subspecialties within Internal Medicine. I aim to broaden my knowledge and develop expertise in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, nephrology, and more. I am driven by a thirst for knowledge and strive to stay updated with the latest medical research and technology advancements to provide the best possible care to my patients.
Beyond my medical pursuits, I enjoy quilling and pot painting. These artistic outlets allow me to find balance and relaxation amidst my profession.

I’m Sowmya Manjari Siddenthi from Osmania Medical College. I chose SRMC primarily because of its supportive faculty, which was a crucial factor for my decision. The picturesque location, with its natural beauty, lakes, and mountains, was an additional appealing aspect. I am currently exploring my career options, with an interest in becoming a hospitalist or pursuing a critical care fellowship.
Franco Luis Chocho Vera, healing from Cuenca, Ecuador, embarked on my medical journey at University of Cuenca, where I graduated in 2021. My passion for internal medicine led me to pursue my career in New York where I worked in a multi specialist’s center in East Hampton Health Care. I am currently pursuing my goal of becoming a hospitalist. I chose Shasta Regional Medical Center due to the supportive faculty and teamwork evidenced in the senior residents. The plus of the quiet place that characterizes Redding and the beautiful trails make it the perfect place for a work-life balance.
Medical School: Kamineni Academy Of Medical Sciences and Research Center I was always drawn to cardiology, gastroenterology, and nephrology when I started medical school. However, for the first year of Residency, I would like to focus on strengthening my clinical abilities before deciding whether to pursue a specialty or become a hospitalist. I chose Shasta Regional Medical Center because of its extensive internal medicine training, helpful faculty, and dedication to servicing a broad patient community. The program’s strong emphasis on community service and a healthy work-life balance also coincide with my professional ambitions and personal values.
I graduated from Osmania Medical College and my interest lies in pursuing nephrology as my career path. I chose Shasta Regional Medical center for its collaborative atmosphere where my growth as a physician is genuinely nurtured. Redding’s setting is ideal for achieving work-life balance. My name is Leonardo Ruiz Medina. I am a foreign medical graduate and Internal Medicine resident at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, CA. I graduated from Universidad de Oriente, Venezuela. Some of the many areas within Internal Medicine that I enjoy and that I would like to further explore during my residency include Cardiology, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine, and Obesity Medicine. During my spare time I play soccer and tennis. I also enjoy reading, watching TV shows, and playing the ukulele.
I pursued a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Johns Hopkins following my graduation from Gandhi Medical College. I am thrilled to join a program where educational opportunities are seamlessly integrated with addressing the health needs of the Redding community. I particularly enjoy working with patients with a multitude of heart conditions solidifying my passion for Cardiology. Redding, situated along the Sacramento River and surrounded by mountains, offers an ideal setting for personal rejuvenation. Outside of medicine, I enjoy painting travel scenes and resin molding of flowers and trekking.
