Redding, CA, March 7, 2014 — Shasta Regional Medical Center was just named for the second year in a row one of the nation’s 100 Top hospitals by Truven Health Analytics, based on several qualities of care metrics and patient satisfaction. Truven Health Analytics, formerly Thomson Reuters, is a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of health care for more than 21 years.
The Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals study evaluates performance in 10 areas: mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia. The study has been conducted annually since 1993.

Shasta Regional was also named as one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in the U.S. for superior inpatient performance in cardiovascular services, by Truven Health Analytics in 2013.
